Queensland Surf Spots
Lamberts Beach/North Wall:
Probably the most northern of spots that I have surfed in QLD. Not regular by any stretch of the immagination but if you find yourself living in North QLD and you get desperate for a wave this place has good potential to deliver, although you can wait and wait....... The best time to get it or North Wall are on a solid SSE swell so it can angle up the Capricorn Channel and hit the beaches. A low jammed up agianst a high in the Tasman and the wind fetch aimed directly up the channel. This will give a little groundswell and not short term stuff. Can get more regular when the big highs float across Australia and the predominant SE trade winds start in May, June, July
Yarrawonga Point:
1 hour south of Mackay and 4wd access needed. If the Mackay beaches have a wave this place will have much more size. Getting the wind offshore and light is the tricky one to call. generally early in the morning and you have to have a high tide so the beach break is working, there is a wide sand bank that juts out from the bay and all of the swell breaks on it at low tide. Good place to get away and surf solo, I have only surfed this place 3 times and no other surfers ever sighted. This place has potential and I wish I had tried to jag it more often. SSE swell and even more of a SE swell with W winds.
5 Rocks & 9 Mile Beach:
Head via Byfield National Park. Need a good 4wd for this one but effort is worth and can be rewarded with nice Easterly groundswell. Sharky but beautiful surrounds to ease your mind.
Farnboruogh
One of my favourite Central QLD spots to surf. If you get to know the conditions for this place you can get regular quality surfing sessions all year round. This place is a special on NE/E ground swell and also gets most SE swell too. Best on the NE/E swell by a country mile. Need NW to W wind for best offshores. Sharky too but a great spot.
Agnes Point/Rocky Point
Agnes Pt is a great spot and one of the relatively underexposed surfing destinations on the coast. However this is quickly changing and more and more people are surfing this place but Rocky Pt is still a good place to get away and surf with the real locals and you have to knoww the right conditions to get Rocky Pt good. Agnes Pt is easily acessable but the latter is harder to find and get to so it is still a nice spot to get away. People are getting out the Reef breaks these days too and they are world class and I would not be surprised if Fitzroy Reef or Cookies become a destination for some type of Surfing contest in the next few years.

Moore Park Beach and Bagara
Need a heavy NE swell to cook this place
Rainbow Beach & D.I.
If I don't end up living as close as possible to D.I. in the next few years I will go round the bend. This place is remote and beautiful with quality waves and consistency that is second to none in the region. Big swells and a point that offers Rights and Lefts, A Frame's and Barrels galore! Bring the shark repelent! A place that can deliver feeling sof ectasy and all out fear on occasions and this place can regularly have you feeling you are a long way from help if you fuck things up! Thanks to Shill we spent many a time at the lighthouse and some of the parties at the "Argon" where epic to say the least.
