14th Jan 2007 - Peace on the Beach
After a few weeks of instability the crew at Alex Hds are back on talking terms, was it th Ashes victory that calmed the stormy waters or was it the early summer swell, who gives a toss! Was it Keg the mediator, who gives a toss! Wildman is sporting a set of fake tits (weapons of mass destruction) and Mick is in love with his New Black Ute! Keg left the coast for drier conditions in Moura - What the F! Mayo's back in Coolum chasing the single mums - what's new!
May 17th 2006 - Back to Australia in August
We are counting down the weeks - 11 to go!! before we head back to Australia at this stage unless we get work elsewhere. Sri Lanka trafffic, pollution and life have lost its appeal s we have decided to head off on the 8th of August for a few days in Malaysia then a few days in Singapore on the way back.
May 15th 2006 - Sri Lanka Lions 14 Hong Kong 45
Hong Kong carved out a convincing 45-14 victory over Sri Lanka at a packed Hong Kong Football Club. The Sri Lankan team started the game in confident fashion, buoyed by their 30-0 win over China the previous week, but a crucial early try by Hong Kong hooker Tom Cameron settled the home side, and Hong Kong never lost the lead for the remainder of the match.
Sri Lanka won't be appearing at the RWC next year although some of the locals were confident they would. Anyhow this crash landing brings to a close the lady luck that has been accompanying the SL team for the past few matches.
February 14th 2006 - New House
Back in the swing of things and just moved into our new house so Kate and I are happy campers to be back on our own 2 feet again. Sri Lanka hasn't changed, still hot and dusty but have been getting some good storms most nights for the past week or so.
November 6th 2005 - Trip Southern Beaches
Stayed down South at Neptune hotel right on the beach and great weather. Swell was up and got a few waves at Bentota at the Taj beach with Lal but a little too big and turned into a paddle fest with a lot of white water. Regualr guys on the beach with the Cobras and Monkeys for the tourists that have returned to the island after the tsunami. the tourist season has just kicked off on the south west coast and it is good to see an end to the constant onshores and rough seas.
Kate and I ate well too due to the hotel package being full board and all inclusive so we did not hold back and stretched the belt a couple of notches to wrong way. Big groups of Germans there and a few "chavs" from the UK - that one is for you Lesley! We know you love them. Had a good driver too for once and headed down to Unawatuna and Hikkaduwa on Sunday morning to surf the reef breaks ther but an unsuccessful mission as the tide wastoo low at Unawatuna and when we got back to Hikkaduwa the wind was onshore and the break was bumpy but heaps of Japs out.
